PSG ruled out of chase for world class midfielder by latest Spanish report | OneFootball

PSG were linked with a move for Man City midfielder Rodri in recent weeks, but Marca has now ruled them out of the picture.

Midfielder Rodri is set to leave Man City this summer, and until recently PSG were listed as a potential destination.

However, today’s update from Marca on the midfielder’s move to Real Madrid has ruled the Parsians out. It claims they were never interested in the Spain star, and will let Madrid move ahead without competition. Neither the owner, nor the sporting director, nor the manager are thinking about signing up the former Atletico player, according to Pablo Polo.

PSG were never keen on Rodri, despite rumours

This lines up with what we would have expected. While Rodri is a top player, PSG’s midfield is in a great position right now, and there was no need to upset the balance for a new star.

At the right price, they could still be interested, but right now this looks like Real Madrid’s deal to fumble. They are willing to offer more than anyone else, and Rodri clearly fancies a return to his hometown.

PSG’s focus will remain on signing a new attacker this summer.
