Achraf Hakimi has been referred to the Hauts-de-Seine departmental criminal court over an allegation of rape in 2023, with PSG maintaining their support for the defender. According to L'Équipe, the investigating judge ordered the referral on Tuesday, following an August request from the Nanterre prosecutor.

As since the start of the judicial inquiry three years ago, the club are standing by him in private and underline that he contests the accusation. PSG intend to protect the Morocco full-back so he can continue working in calm, with the presumption of innocence respected.

Hakimi should be in the squad for Wednesday night’s Champions League play-off second leg against Monaco, and he is being tipped to start.

Asked on Tuesday about the case involving one of his vice-captains, head coach Luis Enrique responded in Spanish that the matter was in the hands of the courts. The club have offered no further public comment while proceedings continue.

Hakimi reacted on his social channels, with his lawyers issuing a fuller response. The LFP did not reply to a request for comment, and partner organisations Colosse aux pieds d’argile and France Victimes declined to answer.
