PSG and Olympique de Marseille are gearing up for the Trophee des Champions in Kuwait on Thursday.
Dubbed Le Classique, this heated rivalry match gives both teams a shot at lifting the first trophy of 2026.
Paris Saint-Germain heads into the game riding high, staying undefeated over their past six outings in all tournaments.
The Ligue 1 titleholders began the year with a 2-1 triumph against city foes Paris FC, keeping their strong run alive. They currently hold second spot in the standings on 39 points from 17 games, trailing Lens by just one point. The Parisians aim to claim a record 14th Trophee des Champions crown.
Luis Enrique’s squad arrives with a few notable absences yet boosted by their latest win. Achraf Hakimi misses out while playing for Morocco in the Africa Cup of Nations, dealing a major hit to their right defense. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov continues to recover from a fractured hand, and midfielder Lee Kang-in’s thigh issue from earlier this month leaves his status uncertain.
On the upside, top keeper Lucas Chevalier is back from injury after featuring in the 2-1 win over Paris FC. Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue, who both scored in that derby, should play key roles.
Possible PSG starting XI: Chevalier; Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos, Pacho, Hernandez; Neves, Vitinha, Ruiz; Ramos, Dembele, Barcola.
The match will kick off at 6pm BST on Thursday, 8th January.
Fans from the United Kingdom have the option to watch the match between PSG and Marseille via Ligue 1+, Ligue 1’s official streaming service.
