Ibrahim Mbaye is being linked with a move away from PSG, but we don’t see why the club would sell him or why he would want to go.

Ibrahim Mbaye is 18 years old and at a World Cup with Senegal. Not bad going.

He finished the Ligue 1 season with 24 appearances, a third of them as a starter. He got 3 goals and 2 assists in that time. He really is playing a fair amount of minutes, and we’re not sure why PSG would consider selling him.

Mbaye and PSG have obvious best out come

There are links to other clubs, but why sell? He’s a brilliant home grown talent who is contributing to the first team. If he’s happy to stay, why accept any offer? Kang-in Lee looks likely to leave, so which would create even more space.

What better team to play as a young player for than one which keeps winning trophies, with a great coach and teammates to learn from? If Mbaye reaches 22 and he’s not a starter, maybe he should think about leaving. But at 18, he would be crazy to want anything other than to stay and keep growing.

In other news…

Mbaye has been linked with Premier League teams including Aston Villa, but we really can’t see the club accepting. If he’s willing to stay, we think he will.

One PSG winger is looking ready to move on after a set of seasons mainly used as a rotation player. We can’t say we blame him, although he will be missed.
