It’s a high-stakes night at the BayArena as Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) face Bayer Leverkusen in a pivotal UEFA Champions League Group Stage match.
Both squads will be fiercely competing for the vital three points to move up in the table.
The injury report for the Parisian side is mixed. There’s hope that Ousmane Dembélé, the current Ballon d’Or holder, has recovered sufficiently from a hamstring problem to be named in the travelling squad for Germany. However, his midfield counterpart, João Neves, is still sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Further complicating the situation for PSG, Marquinhos is doubtful with a persistent thigh issue. Meanwhile, Fabián Ruiz is battling a hip complaint that could delay his landmark 50th appearance in the Champions League proper.
PSG are coming off an electrifying win in their last group fixture. Against Barcelona, they snatched a dramatic victory thanks to a late surge. Senny Mayulu scored a vital equaliser, paving the way for Gonçalo Ramos to net the winner in the 90th minute. This late strike made Ramos one of only two players in the competition’s history to score a winning goal against the Catalan giants so deep into a match.
Possible PSG starting XI: Chevalier; Hakimi, Zabarnyi, Pacho, Mendes; Kang-in, Vitinha, Doue; Kvaratskhelia, Ramos, Barcola.
The match will kick off at 8pm BST on Tuesday 21st October.
