PSV Eindhoven have completed the permanent signing of Sergiño Dest following his successful loan spell at the club. The Eredivisie champions announced the news on Saturday afternoon, having previously hinted that a return to the Philips Stadion was off the cards. The US international has put pen to paper on a four-year deal valid until 2028.
Dest has officially left FC Barcelona, where he featured 72 times over two seasons. The LaLiga giants confirmed his return to PSV, but have not specified any details of the move. The 23-year-old’s contract in Spain was still valid until 2025, but the club were happy to let Dest depart.
Sergiño Dest himself has expressed his delight towards rejoining PSV. ‘I got to know the club as incredibly well, like I’ve never experienced anywhere. Those are important aspects for someone in my situation and give me confidence that I can rehabilitate well here,’ he told the club. PSV will be looking to win a second successive Eredivisie title next season, after an incredible campaign under Peter Bosz. Sergiño Dest will certainly play a huge part once again after injury.
