According to Voetbal International, PSV Eindhoven are closing in on the signing of Ryan Flamingo from FC Utrecht. The 21-year-old stood out as one of the most exciting defenders in the Eredivisie last season, featuring 34 times as the club finished 7th in the table. PSV are set to spend €9m on the centre-back excluding add-ons, with personal terms to be discussed in the coming days.
FC Utrecht spent €3m on Ryan Flamingo last year, brining the youngster back to his homeland from Serie A side Sassuolo. He had also spent a season on loan with Vitesse before joining Ron Jans’ Utrecht. Now, he’s set to complete a massive move to the Philips Stadion, where he’ll work under head coach Peter Bosz as they target a second successive Eredivisie title.
As well as Ryan Flamingo, PSV are also in the market for Excelsior Rotterdam winger Couhaib Driouech. The Moroccan impressed in the Eredivisie last season despite Excelsior’s drop to the second tier.
