Christian Pulisic skipped the Trofeo Berlusconi match and is training separately today, as Milan hope to get him ready for Saturday’s season opener against Torino.
The Rossoneri beat Monza 3-1 in the final pre-season friendly last night at San Siro, but the USMNT star did not take part in the game.
According to the latest reports, it is because he suffered a knock to the ankle over the last few days in training and it was decided as a precaution not to risk him in that match.
Even today, he was still training separately from the rest of the squad in order to nurse that minor injury.
Although there is no guarantee, coach Paulo Fonseca believes he will be able to start Pulisic on Saturday evening against Torino.
Pierre Kalulu travelled with the squad to San Siro last night, but then was not even named on the bench, as he is believed to be on the verge of a move to Juventus.
The versatile defender was nonetheless training with the group today.
There will be a familiar face in the opposition this weekend, because Toro have just officially signed former Milan goalkeeper Antonio Donnarumma.
The older brother of Gianluigi Donnarumma was a free agent and has put pen to paper on a contract to June 2026.
