Joao Pedro is on a great run of form since Liam Rosenior took over, and a former teammate has been speaking about his impact.
Ben Foster’s podcast has the occasional bit of interesting content, and that’s especially true when he speaks about his old teammates.
There’s only one player at Chelsea who shared a dressing room with Foster – Joao Pedro was his colleague at Watford a few years ago. It seems that the ex-England goalkeeper has started to change his mind on the Brazilian’s ceiling having seen him start to thrive at Stamford Bridge.

“It’s incredible for Joao, because he’s not an out-and-out striker, not an out-and-out scorer. I was with Joao at Watford, and sometimes he was playing on the right wing, in midfield,” Foster said on his podcast.
“[I used to think] he’s not that guy that is going to score 25 goals, but I’m looking at him thinking, do you know what, maybe you can be that man. and turn into that. He’s such a good lad, a hard worker. I’m happy for him.”
JP has 11 Premier League goals this season, none of them penalties. He has 14 in all competitions. 25 this season would be a tall order, but the potential is there if the team around him keeps improving.
