Azzedine Ounahi’s (24) time at Olympique de Marseille looks to be coming to an end with Foot Mercato reporting that Al Sadd are currently interested in the Moroccan international.

Ounahi has had a difficult time at Marseille since joining the club from Angers SCO in January 2023. One of the breakout stars at the 2022 World Cup has struggled to replicate that form for his club side and has looked largely like a peripheral part of the squad. The midfielder has no future in La Provence with his new manager, Roberto De Zerbi, informing him that he has no plans to use him in the upcoming campaign.

Ounahi has long been linked with a move away to the Middle East, and while he was still a player at Angers he was approached by Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli. Ounahi was thought to be keen for the Al-Ahli move but according to Foot Mercato his advisors warned him against it as they believed that his development would be better served in Ligue 1. Saudi Arabian clubs have frequently been linked with him since, however, his future looks now as if it will lie in Qatar. The site where he first announced himself on the global stage.
