Queens Park Rangers have had a busy summer in the transfer market, and Hoops fans have a lot to be excited about.

The arrivals of striker Richard Kone and winger Kwame Poku are the two standout additions so far, as new head coach Julien Stephan seeks to improve on last season's disappointing 15th-placed finish in the Championship.

But with just weeks until the summer transfer window closes on 1 September, there are still further changes that can be made to their squad to add a little strength in depth.

With that in mind, FLW have called on our Rangers fan pundit Louis Moir to ask him which two players he feels his club could realistically bring in before the end of the window.

QPR urged to look at Jamal Lewis and Yakou Méïté

Louis identified two positions in which he feels Queens Park Rangers could do with further reinforcement, and the first is defensive.

"One would be left-back, because we're in desperate need of one, especially with Larkeche's big injury.

"There's players out there who'd do a job and if we could get someone in with a bit of quality about them on a free transfer, I think Jamal Lewis would tick a lot of boxes.

"He's not played tonnes of football recently, but he's got that Championship experience and a few Premier League appearances, and he's a good age.

"I just feel that on a free transfer you couldn't really go wrong with someone like that, who'd come in a do a job for us. You'd be saving a bit of money in a key position but still able to bring someone decent in another position."

Louis' other suggestion is to add a bit more strength to Rangers' attacking options: "Another player I'd say is one who maybe some would say isn't quite up to Championship standard, but I quite like Yakou Méïté.

"He was at Cardiff last season, and again, is available on a free transfer. I've always liked him, since he was at Reading.

"He always caused problems when we played against him. Across the front line and the left wing, he's got pace and power and could add a little bit of strength to our attack. I don't think he'd be a bad signing at all.

"I think it would even more strength up front alongside Poku and Kone and cause problems for other sides in this league. With pace, power, and versatility, he's dynamic, and I think he would tick a lot of boxes.

"I think those two would be players I'd look at on free transfers, both with bags of Championship experience."

Lewis and Meite could be shrewd additions for Queens Park Rangers

The injury sustained by Ziyad Larkeche was certainly a big blow to Julien Stephan's plans for the new season.

The 22-year-old has sustained an ACL injury in training which is expected to leave him out of the QPR team for a lengthy period of time, so a replacement in that position does feel like it could be necessary for QPR before the end of the transfer window.

Lewis has a host of Premier League experience with Norwich City and Newcastle United, whilst also getting a taste of top-flight football in Brazil last season with São Paulo.

At 27, he's still firmly in the prime of his career, and having played 36 Championship games for Watford in the 23/24 campaign, has solid and recent second tier pedigree to boot.

There are no injuries up front for QPR at present, but it always helps to have extra goal-scoring options.

The arrival of Richard Kone, a proven goalscorer a division below with Wycombe Wanderers last season, was certainly welcome for Rangers fans, but the addition of Yakou Méïté would add an extra dimension that they don't quite have at the moment.

Capable of playing both out wide or through the middle, the 29-year-old has bags of second tier experience with Cardiff and Reading respectively, and also has some top pedigree to his name having developed through PSG's academy system, and even made a first-team appearance for the Parisians in 2015/16.
