Leeds United have been given a potential lift in their pursuit of AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, with the club open to a sale this summer. The forward has been linked throughout the window.
According to Leeds Live, Leao has been offered to Leeds, as well as Manchester United and Arsenal, and the 27-year-old wants a new challenge away from San Siro.
He did not feature in Milan’s pre-season friendly against Manchester United on Saturday. The omission was reportedly down to a slight muscle strain, while talk over his future continues.
It is also indicated that Milan are not desperate to sell. If a satisfactory offer does not arrive, the club and manager Ruben Amorim are content to make him a regular part of the squad.
Across the summer, Leao has made his stance plain, saying he needs a new challenge after two trophies in Italy and that the Premier League or La Liga could suit his style better than Serie A.
Daniel Farke has already added three new players. Harry Wilson has signed on a free after leaving Fulham, defender Tarik Muharemovic has joined from Sassuolo, and goalkeeper James Trafford has arrived from Manchester City.
