Raheem Sterling's search for a new club has suffered another setback, as Le Havre and another Ligue 1 team declined approaches for the 31-year-old free agent. He was offered to Le Havre, currently bottom of the table, and another top-flight side, but both passed.

Foot Mercato reports that Le Havre consider themselves well stocked in wide areas, and the unnamed club also declined.

Sterling left Manchester City for Chelsea in 2022 but struggled for consistency at Stamford Bridge. A loan to Arsenal brought 28 appearances, yielding one goal and five assists.

His Chelsea contract was mutually terminated in January 2026, then he joined Feyenoord on a free in February. The spell in Rotterdam was brief and unproductive, and the four-time Premier League champion is again looking for a fresh start.

His off-field situation is also weighing on interest. He recently pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and to possessing six canisters of nitrous oxide after his car reportedly hit a motorway security barrier. No other parties were injured, and he also admitted possession for wrongful inhalation and failing to provide a specimen.

Sterling has not scored in competitive football since September 2024, underlining the concerns for recruiters. He remains intent on a move outside England to seek a new challenge away from intense domestic scrutiny.
