Ramos's surprising response on his playing time at PSG

Gonçalo Ramos, the 24-year-old striker for Paris Saint-Germain and Portugal, spoke on the show Cala-te Boca. He was notably asked about his rather limited playing time at PSG. His answer was very clear.

Ramos: “it’s not worth wasting my energy”

“I play in a position where everything revolves around goals, but my job is to focus on what I can control. I don’t control whether I play more or less, and it’s not worth wasting my energy and getting upset about it, because those are decisions that have to be respected. Everything is going well for me and I don’t want to let the rest affect me, because that would only harm me,” comments relayed by Foot Mercato.

Very clear remarks: Ramos does not want to wear himself out or get annoyed over things he does not really control. He respects the coach’s choices and simply does his best with the playing time he is given. The striker wants to help the team; the rest does not concern him. Even if he has something to say in the face of competition. But it is only through his performances that he can fight, not with words. One can only appreciate this admirable mindset, which is especially so.
