This article will be controversial. We may even lose one or two readers over it. We also are old enough and ugly enough here to take the criticism on the chin and just get on with it.
So here we go.
And that is that Rangers fans are forever telling sites like Ibrox Noise and other groups as well that Kevin Thelwell has a lot to answer for.
They slaughter the former Sporting Director for the garbage he signed. Every new comment is blaming the players Thelwell signed.
In short, every aspect of blame goes to him and the work he did.
But the big catch that these fans who very frequently back Danny Rohl have forgotten is….
KEVIN THELWELL ALSO SIGNED DANNY ROHL.
And very few fans wanted the German.
Just like Russell Martin Rohl was a desperately unpopular appointment with fans having a meltdown after losing out on both Steven Gerrard and Kevin Muscat.
But just like Martin, they fell in line quickly with the ‘he’s here now, I trust Danny Rohl’ patter.
The players they don’t like, don’t trust, signed by Thelwell, who did the same with the manager.
But apparently the manager isn’t judged in the same way as the players.
So despite them all being signed by the hated, loathed Kevin Thelwell, Rohl gets a free pass and the players can just burn?
Can anyone not see the flaw here, or is it just us?
Patrick Stewart infamously appointed Russell Martin, the ex-manager was his choice. But Rohl was all Thelwell.
Rohl, who had pulled out of all of this months ago after learning he was fourth choice, was persuaded by Thelwell to come back.
He’s his man.
And yet, he’s the man to trust?
We don’t dislike Rohl quite in the way we did Martin, and we got abused all year over Martin. By the same fans who in the end chanted Martin GTF.
But Rohl is showing in the last month that he’s carrying on very much in Martin’s vein – throwing players under busses, ‘great in training’, making it about himself.
He’s not dislikable in quite the same way, but we have as much faith in Rohl as we did in Martin.
Martin did at least earn promotion to the Premier League. Rohl was out of work having mutual consented his way out of Sheffield.
And last night was another horrible display from Rohl, not just the players.
Nice work Kevin, you’ve really wrecked this club.
