Rangers have 7 hours to budge on Ryan Naderi deal

While we were pleased at Ibrox Noise with the signings of Skov Olsen, Chukwuani and Rommens, we cannot say that any of them have set our worlds alight. We are being a little unfair on Skov Olsen, because he was one we really did want, and Chukwuani does look on paper like the kind of six we need in midfield. There will be time to settle and we understand that. But right now, in general, the team does not look any better with them in it, and consequently the bid regarding Ryan Naderi is not reassuring us that things are about to improve.
Rangers do not believe that Naderi is worth what Hansa Rostock want for him. This is a third division German striker. We are not talking about Erling Haaland. He is about the same height in all fairness, but even with his free scoring record at lower levels, this is still a 22 year old hitman with no experience of a club like Rangers. We are not quite sure why the club refuses to pay what Rostock want for him. But then the bigger question follows. If Rangers do not believe he is worth their valuation, why do they want him at all. If we do not think he is worth £5M, or whatever Rostock appear to want, why are we chasing a striker we only value at £2.5M. That does not sound like the 25 goal a season striker Rangers need right now.
He might be free scoring in the German third division, but the pressure at Rangers is a completely different thing. We have had a horrible EFL slop feeling around this club for some time now, particularly under Thelwell and Russell Martin. Those two brought in a lot of lower league nonsense and paid heavily for it. Fernandez and Aasgaard are massive examples of the level Rangers are currently operating at. We are not convinced by the Borussia Dortmund interest in Fernandez, but football is bizarre like that. He is not a great defender for Rangers. But right now, the problem is up front.
Rangers are lacking anything remotely decent there. We have Miovski, Chermiti and the still not confirmed as departed Danilo, who we will cover in due course. Rangers need goals. They do not need EFL slop level signings arriving constantly. And yet we still refuse to meet what Rostock believe this free scoring German is worth. That is another strange direction for Rangers to take. Is a third division German striker really the best we can do. Sadly, these days, it probably is.
