Rangers must go nowhere near Ole Gunnar Solskjær

Ibrox Noise was amused to see a member of our community plugging Ole Gunnar Solskjær as new Rangers manager.
We know the ex-Man Utd striker (legend is a bit strong) was part of the interviews even if he himself wasn’t fully all-in over the appointment.
But Paul Scholes gave a lot away and we understand that yes, the Norwegian was in London to talk to the owners.
And we can safely say we’d sooner take Martin back than have the Scandinavian as boss.
The comment:
“Out of all the candidates so far Ole would be my pick. He’s come from an era and more importantly played with a team that were dominating English football for 20 years. Imagine what you learn from SAF in all those years. He did well to steady the ship at Man U with a non competitive squad.Offer him a 1 year deal and see what he does.”
Because working under SAF made Carrick an epic manager didn’t it? And Ryan Giggs is doing great isn’t he? Meanwhile our very own Ally became a titan in management under Walter!
In short, playing under a great manager means squat. You might become great yourself, you might not.
But Ole isn’t great.
His only success in management was at Molde where he won three trophies, in a not-particularly tough league, not unlike another favourite of some, Kjetil Knutsen.
At his two big gigs, Man Utd and Besiktas, Ole was out of his depth. A Europa League final was the sum total of his achievements, which isn’t horrible, but we can’t say he’s the elite coach we need at Ibrox.
A 30% win rate at Cardiff was even worse than Martin at Rangers, so we’d hardly welcome him with open arms.
Ole is out of work for a reason, a bunch of Rangers’ targets haven’t been snapped up for those reasons.
The only one we’re after who has a job is Kevin Muscat. And there’s a reason for that.
It’s an emphatic no to Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
