Rangers Prospect Drawing Significant Loan Move Attention | OneFootball

Rangers talent Mason Munn could leave Ibrox on loan this summer, with the shot-stopper emerging as a target for clubs across England and Scotland, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 20-year-old joined the Gers’ academy in 2022, with Rangers identifying considerable potential in the youngster.

The custodian made his first-team debut during the 2024/25 Scottish Cup against Fraserburgh, helping Rangers to a 5-0 victory while recording a clean sheet.

Last season, the Glasgow giants sought to further Munn’s development by sending him to Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic.

The goalkeeper opened his Dunfermline spell with a clean sheet, but his chances quickly proved scarce and he ultimately returned to Ibrox during the winter window.

The Gers then sent him out on a second loan, this time joining Scottish League One outfit Forfar Athletic for the remainder of the campaign.

Munn kept two clean sheets in six appearances for Forfar Athletic before heading back to Glasgow at the season’s conclusion.

Now, Munn could embark on another temporary spell away from Ibrox this summer, with ‘a number of clubs in England and Scotland’ lining up to secure his services.

Which destination ultimately awaits the goalkeeper remains unclear, while Rangers will be keen to ensure any move provides him with regular opportunities and allows his development to continue on an upward trajectory.

Munn has two years remaining on his contract with the Scottish giants, meaning he can head out on a season-long loan without worrying about potentially being out of contract next summer.

Derek McInnes’ side brought in Ivor Pandur from Hull City earlier in the window to take up the first-choice goalkeeper role, in a move which saw Jack Butland head to the Premier League new boys.

Rangers still have considerable business to do before the window in Scotland closes on 3rd September.

The Gers recently bid farewell to midfielder Mohamed Diomande, who completed his move to Turkish outfit Corum FK in a switch which added €5.5m to the Ibrox coffers.
