Rangers welcome Hibernian to the Ibrox Stadium in a Scottish Premiership matchday 37 clash on Wednesday.
Rangers manager Danny Röhl faces critical squad decisions ahead of the clash at Ibrox following a disappointing Old Firm derby defeat.
Rangers are still missing Bailey Rice as he is sidelined through injury.
A major talking point is the availability of key defender John Souttar. He sat out the weekend derby and faces a late fifty-fifty fitness test to determine if he can anchor the backline.
On a positive note, forward Ryan Naderi has returned to full fitness after overcoming a lingering muscle issue that kept him out of the previous match.
Additionally, left-back Tuur Rommens is fully recovered and played the last match against Celtic. He is ready for selection once again.
Jack Butland will start in goal, protected by Nasser Djiga, and Valery Fernandez at the centre-back.
The midfield will rely on Mads Chukwuani, Connor Barron, and Mohamed Diomandé, supporting an attacking trio of Oliver Antman, Jaden Moore, and Youssef Chermiti.
The squad receives a massive psychological and tactical boost with the return of Josh Mulligan.
The midfielder is set to re-enter the matchday squad after spending nearly four months on the sidelines with a severe ankle injury though he might start from the bench.
Rocky Bushiri is also expected to be available after successfully shaking off a minor hamstring complaint.
However, Hibs remain short-handed in key areas, as Jamie McGrath continues to serve out his suspension and young Rudi Molotnikov remains completely ruled out with an ongoing ankle problem.
In terms of tactics, Hibs are projected to deploy a robust three-five-two formation. Josef Sallinger will start in goal behind a back three of Warren O’Hora, Grant Hanley, and Tom Iredale.
Felix Passlack, Dan Barlaser, Jordan Obita, and Allan Campbell will control the midfield, alongiwith Miguel Chaiwa creating chances for Martin Boyle and James Elding upfront.
Rangers’ title charge has collapsed after a miserable run of form, losing three consecutive post-split matches. Danny Röhl’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat against Motherwell, a 2-1 loss to Hearts, and a decisive 3-1 Old Firm derby defeat to Celtic. Despite earlier high-scoring wins over Falkirk and Dundee United, this severe dip has locked the Glasgow club into third place with 69 points, entirely out of contention for the Scottish Premiership crown.
Hibernian enter the fixture with mixed momentum but are buoyed by a 1-3 away victory over Falkirk. That critical win snapped a damaging three-game losing streak, which included narrow 1-2 losses to Celtic and Hearts, alongside a 2-0 defeat against Aberdeen. Currently sitting fifth with 54 points, David Gray’s squad remains highly motivated as they aggressively chase Motherwell to secure a fourth-place finish and European qualification.
Rangers: Butland; Sterling, Djiga, Fernandez, Rommens; Barron, Chukwuani; Aasgaard, Miovski, Moore; Chermiti
Hibernian: Sallinger; O’Hora, Hanley, Iredale; Passlack, Chaiwa, Barlaser, Obita; Campbell; Elding, Boyle
