Supporters’ group Red and White Army has delivered a positive update after meeting interim chief executive Tom Burwell to tackle ticketing issues.

According to Sunderland Echo, the group told members the talks were constructive, the club acknowledged concerns over cancelled away tickets and season-ticket renewals, and most affected fans have since seen positive outcomes.

Individual cases have been addressed where possible, with processes being improved. RAWA will continue working with Sunderland on future ticketing and, after the 2025/2026 campaign, plans to liaise with the FSA on European matters.

The meeting followed public frustration late in the season, with some cases later resolved after further dialogue. Staffing changes at the club were described as strategic and geared towards operating successfully in the Premier League.

For away travel, Sunderland intends to deploy its own stewards on busy LNER trains after a successful trial around the Bournemouth fixture, when behaviour appeared to improve.

RAWA also noted that Paul Nelson and Jane Hughes represented the group at the Premier League Fan Advisory Board meeting at Villa Park.
