GUADALUPE, Mexico – CF Monterrey Femenil won 3-nil against LD Alajuelense to close the group stage in the 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup on Thursday at Estadio BBVA in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon.
Tanna Sánchez started the attack for the hosts in the 15’, trying to get past Noelia Bermúdez, but the Costa Rican goalkeeper stopped the attempt.
LD Alajuelense answered in the 22’ with Kenia Rangel sending a shot from the upper side of the box, but her effort went over the crossbar as both squads went scoreless into halftime.
Rayadas broke the deadlock in the 53’ through Lucía García, who made an impact off the bench by striking a volley from the upper side of the box.
Lucía García showed up again in the 57’, earning her brace on a breakaway opportunity where she controlled the ball into the penalty area before striking with her right foot into the bottom-right corner.
Rebeca Bernal extended the lead for the Mexican club in the 81’ by providing the header to capitalize on a free-kick attempt.
CF Monterrey Femenil closes its participation in the tournament with a 2-1-1 record to finish third in Group A on seven points.
LD Alajuelense finishes its debut campaign with a 1-0-3 record for a fourth-place finish with three points.
