Rayan has said goodbye to Vasco after completing a €35 million move to Bournemouth, posting his farewell on Wednesday. The forward’s transfer is the biggest sale in the Rio club’s history.
The player said in a post that he grew up in Barreira, the community around São Januário, where he took his first steps in football.
He wrote that his bond with Vasco began with his parents, noting his father’s move from Espírito Santo and his mother’s work at the club. He thanked family, coaches, team-mates and staff for guiding him and spoke of a new stage in his career.
Raised at the club and formerly shirt 77, Rayan departs with 99 senior appearances and 25 goals.
He added that he will carry every memory and lesson with him, and that Barreira will always have a place in his heart.
