Rayan Fofana has signed a two-year contract extension with Lens, keeping the 19-year-old forward at the club until 2029.

According to L'Équipe, Lens, the surprise package of the first half of the season and current Ligue 1 leaders, are continuing to lay foundations for the future. The club have already agreed the transfer of Amadou Haidara from Leipzig, with the Malian midfielder having passed his medical.

Lens had been negotiating for several months to extend Fofana’s deal. He has made 12 Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring 2 goals and supplying 1 assist.

An agreement between the club and the highly regarded prospect was reached in recent days.

Fofana, a product of the Lens academy, joined the club in 2019 at the age of 13.
