Rayo Vallecano join hunt for on-loan Real Betis star | OneFootball

The brass at Rayo Vallecano are expressing a keen interest in the signature of an on-loan member of the attacking ranks at La Liga rivals Real Betis.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Borja Iglesias as the player in question.

Frontman Iglesias has for his part spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Celta Vigo.

And the 32-year-old, for the most part, has gone on to impress once more. Across 35 total league appearances (23 starts), Iglesias has racked up 10 goals, and three assists.

This includes a hat-trick at newly-crowned champions Barcelona last month.

Celta Vigo, in turn, are expected to open negotiations with their counterparts at Real Betis, over a permanent deal for Iglesias in the summer.

Should as much fail to bear fruit, however, another Spanish top-flight club are waiting in the wings, too.

As per MD:

‘Celta are not the only team considering the signing of Borja Iglesias, as Rayo Vallecano have also asked Betis about the Panda’s situation, for whom they plan to bid at the end of the season.’
