Rayo Vallecano's first-team squad, backed by the coaching staff, said in a statement via AFE that conditions at Estadio de Vallecas and the club's Ciudad Deportiva have become unacceptable, calling for improved working standards.

They criticised the Vallecas pitch as clearly deficient over the last month, saying the situation has worsened week by week and was evident again today, only hours before another official match. The surface was described as unstable and unplayable, forcing the team to work at the training base, and they believe it does not meet minimum top-flight requirements.

They also pointed to daily facility problems, including periods without hot water in the showers, inconsistent cleaning and outdated infrastructure. These issues have been raised with the club presidency, but promised fixes and explanations have not resolved matters, and they fear for their physical integrity and basic working conditions.

During pre-season, the squad spent nearly three months unable to train at the Ciudad Deportiva because of poor pitches, and had to move sessions off site. Later, due to the weather, they trained on a synthetic surface outside the complex because their pitches were unfit.

The players hailed the supporters as a fundamental pillar and believe the fanbase deserves greater care. They emphasised they do not seek conflict or to distract from Saturday's game, remain committed to compete with professionalism and defend the badge, while accepting responsibility for the current sporting situation, and believe change is needed. They also thanked AFE for its constant support.
