RB Leipzig confirm Nkunku return

Christopher Nkunku has rejoined RB Leipzig on loan from AC Milan, the Bundesliga club confirming a one-year deal with an option to buy. The French forward returns to the side he represented from 2019 to 2023.
Managing director for sport Marcel Schäfer welcomed his return, highlighting Nkunku’s exceptional talent, versatility across the front line and familiarity with the club, the city and the region. He added that the player chose Leipzig despite interest from other leading European clubs, underlining a strong bond with RBL.
Nkunku said he jumped at the chance to come back and is very happy to be here again. He described himself as in excellent shape and eager to help as soon as possible, and is looking forward to playing in front of the fans at the Red Bull Arena.
He called his connection to Leipzig special, noting he kept a close eye on the team after departing and is ready to start a new chapter with RBL.
Nkunku also said talks with the hierarchy showed how much they still value and trust him, and that Leipzig is the right place for him to perform at his best.
