RB Leipzig are in advanced talks to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Rocco Reitz, Bild reports.

The move would not require direct talks with Gladbach, as Reitz can leave via a release clause believed to be around €20 million.

The 23-year-old is viewed as a potential replacement for Xaver Schlager, who is set to depart Leipzig when his contract expires this summer, a departure the club has recently confirmed.

Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and Brighton & Hove Albion have also been linked with the midfielder.

Leipzig are additionally interested in Hertha BSC’s 16-year-old Kennet Eichhorn, who reportedly has a €12 million release clause, though competition for the youngster is strong.
