Bild reports that RB Leipzig has made the decision that a quintet of their longest-serving players can leave the club this summer.
Yussuf Poulsen, Willi Orban, Kevin Kampl, Peter Gulacsi and Lukas Klostermann can all leave the club in the summer.
The reason behind this decision for Leipzig is that they want to refresh their squad this summer, after missing out on European football, and getting rid of these five players would help to reduce their wage bill as they all earn around €6m per year.
None of these players has yet been informed about this decision, with talks about the issue set to take place this week.
Considering the stature that the five players hold at the club, this is a big call for Leipzig. Poulsen, Orban, Gulacsi, Klostermann and Kampl all sit in the top 10 for appearances made for the club, making a combined 1718 appearances for the club. The captain and vice-captain, Gulacsi and Orban, were Leipzig’s best players in a very poor season for the club.
