According to a report from Foot Mercato, RC Lens and Girona are competing to sign Armenia international midfielder Eduard Spertsyan (24).
It has been a summer of change at Lens with both Franck Haise and Arnaud Pouille departing the club. Will Still has replaced Haise as manager amid the imposition of a more stringent and austere regime at Les Sang et Or. As a result, Lens are looking to sell some key players, notably Elye Wahi and perhaps even Brice Samba and Kevin Danso.
Whilst there is currently a strong focus on departures, the Ligue 1 club, who will compete in the UEFA Europa Conference League next season, are also looking to strengthen. Whilst it seems that they won’t sign AS Monaco-bound Georges Mikautadze, Lens have targeted Spertsyan, who netted 11 goals and registered seven assists in 33 appearances for Krasnodar last season.
However, Lens may face competition for Spertsyan, who is also coveted by La Liga side Girona. No offer has yet been submitted by Les Sang et Or.
