Injuries have proven to be the main enemy for Hansi Flick’s Barcelona this season, derailing the team’s momentum at critical moments.
The casualty list has already reached thirteen players since the start of the campaign. The latest victim is Pedri, who has been ruled out for at least a month.
This string of injuries may be more than just bad luck. According to a report from COPE, there is a certain disconnect emerging between the club’s medical staff and the physiotherapists.
This internal friction is reportedly causing confusion and conflicting messages regarding player availability. A prime example occurred with Ferran Torres ahead of the Champions League match against Olympiacos.
While Hansi Flick had publicly ruled the player out in his press conference, he was surprisingly named to the bench.

This last-minute change was reportedly made on the advice of the fitness coaches, who overruled the initial medical assessment.
This worrying trend extends to Lamine Yamal. The 18-year-old is still not one hundred percent and, as the report confirmed, continues to feel minor discomfort in the afternoon after intense training sessions.
The situation has reportedly led to the club seeking external advice to manage their star player, who is in constant contact with the medical staff.
While doctors have ruled out surgery, they have insisted that the player must be more consistent with his daily exercises and follow the prescribed guidelines.
Pedri’s own injury was described as a “surprise” by Flick, who was initially told the player only felt “slight discomfort.” With key players in uncertain conditions and internal misalignment, this disconnect is a critical issue that needs to be resolved.
