According to a recent report from Canal + Foot, Real Madrid’s young forward Endrick is on the verge of joining French side Olympique Lyonnais on loan during the upcoming January transfer window.

The move, which is said to be in the final stages of negotiation, could provide the Brazilian prodigy with the much-needed game time he has been lacking this season.

The report outlines that the two clubs are discussing a paid loan deal worth around €800,000, which would include performance-related clauses.

Things to discuss

One such condition reportedly involves financial penalties if Endrick fails to feature in at least 25 matches for Lyon.

In addition, Real Madrid are willing to cover part of the player’s salary, showing their intent to facilitate his development elsewhere.

The only point still under discussion concerns the recall clause. Real Madrid want the option to bring Endrick back until January 31, in case an injury crisis strikes their forward line.

Lyon, however, are pushing to limit that clause to January 15, ensuring more stability in their squad planning.

Endrick wants Lyon

It must be noted that despite being fully fit, Endrick has played just 11 minutes in the 2025–26 season, which is a clear indication that he is not in the manager’s plans for now.

As a result, both the player and his representatives began exploring loan opportunities, and Lyon quickly emerged as the most attractive destination.

For Endrick, a switch to Lyon offers multiple advantages. The French side are competing in the UEFA Europa League, which provides the youngster with a competitive European platform to showcase his talent.

Moreover, he has already spoken with Lyon coach Paulo Fonseca, and their conversations have reportedly been positive.

Endrick is confident that adapting under Fonseca’s management will be smooth not only due to the shared language roots but also because of the coach’s open communication and tactical clarity.
