In a recent report, El Nacional stated that Real Madrid are considering Juventude winger Fernando Pacheco, who is currently playing on loan from Fluminense, as a target. It has been claimed that Los Blancos have identified the Peruvian attacker as a potential option to improve their squad.

Pacheco’s Unimpressive Loan Spell At Juventude

The 22-year-old is currently experiencing an uneventful loan spell at Juventude where he has struggled to earn regular game time during this campaign. Pacheco has been involved in 17 matches for the Brazilian outfit this season but is still waiting to open his goal-scoring account in multiple competitions.

The Lima-born talent has failed to catch the eye as most of his appearances have come as a substitute which explains why he is only averaging 0.3 shots, 0.2 key passes and 0.3 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Brasileirao. He has also been a bit sloppy when interchanging possession with his teammates after making 70.2% of his attempted passes in the Brazilian top tier (stats via whoscored).

Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Snap Pacheco Up?

Pacheco has decent pace under his belt and can complete some impressive dribbles with the ball when he is playing regularly on the field. However, he has been a bit indecisive in the attacking end of the field which could be why he has struggled to score goals or pick up any assists as a regular substitute for Juventude this season.

The Peruvian wide player has shown some glimpses of his potential. However, Real Madrid would be better off opting for a more proven winger as Pacheco has shown no signs that he has what it takes to be a success story at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

At 22, the South American sensation has still got a long time to prove his worth at the top level. But for now, Los Blancos should not make a move to snap him up as he is far too inexperienced to assume an important role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the coming seasons. The Madrid giants should rather keep tabs on his progress and make an informed decision on whether to sign him in the future.
