Speculation is once again swirling around Real Madrid, this time surrounding the future of Brazilian forward Rodrygo, who could be on the verge of a shock departure from the Santiago Bernabéu.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Real Madrid are open to considering offers for Rodrygo, with a growing belief that his time in Spain may be nearing its end. 

The outlet claims that a Premier League club has already stepped forward to express serious interest in securing his services.

As such, Chelsea are the team leading the race to sign the 24-year-old attacker. The London-based side, who have been active in pursuing attacking reinforcements, are said to view Rodrygo as an ideal addition to their project. 

Sources claim that the Blues could make an official move either in January or in the summer, depending on Real Madrid’s stance.

At this stage, Real Madrid have not publicly commented on the rumours, but the situation could evolve rapidly as the January transfer window approaches.

The Spanish giants are believed to be analysing the situation carefully, weighing up whether now is the right moment to cash in or whether the Brazilian should stay until the end of the season.

Rodrygo, who has a contract until 2028, has endured a mixed start to the campaign. 

He has featured in 10 La Liga fixtures and three Champions League matches, but many of those appearances have come from the bench. 

For now, the player has remained silent on the transfer talk. Sources close to him claim he is fully focused on helping Real Madrid achieve their objectives, despite growing interest from England. 

Whether he eventually stays or leaves could depend largely on Madrid’s attacking plans for 2026 and whether Chelsea are willing to meet the club’s financial expectations.
