Real Madrid have distanced themselves from links with Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, adding to a flurry of club communications during the World Cup.

The club said in a statement that it had had no direct or indirect contact with Olise, his representatives, or anyone connected to him.

Madrid emphasised their excellent institutional relationship with Bayern Munich and said they regret the spread of speculation that does not reflect reality.

They added that any potential interest in a player belonging to the other club should first be addressed between the two organisations, in line with long-standing institutional loyalty.

Saturday’s note follows a run of daily bulletins announcing the arrivals of José Mourinho, Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva.

Madrid also outlined a 150 million offer to Atlético for Julián Álvarez, which was rejected by the Madrid club.
