Real Madrid have shut down speculation linking the club with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez.
Fernandez was a prime target for Madrid, with manager Jose Mourinho pushing to sign him.
Madrid have dismissed those claims in an official statement on their website, insisting they have ‘no intention of undertaking such an operation’.
Their stance may influence the future of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga. The two Frenchmen have been linked with Manchester United.
Los Blancos have already bolstered their midfield with the signing of Bernardo Silva from Manchester City. They would need to sell players to create room for a new signing in midfield.
Fernandez could still leave Chelsea this summer. His agent, Javier Pastore, recently confirmed that the midfielder is ‘looking at possibilities to leave’ the club.
Arsenal have been linked with Fernandez, but their primary target is Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes. He would cost less than the Argentina international.
Chelsea have reportedly placed a £120 million asking price on the 25-year-old, who still has six years left on his contract.
