A new report from Fichajes has revealed that Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of Leon Goretzka, with the German midfielder emerging as a serious market opportunity ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

It is said that the belief within Los Blancos is growing that Goretzka’s profile fits what Real Madrid currently lack in midfield.

The focus is not just on his technical ability, but on his physical presence, experience, and understanding of high-level European football.

At 30 years old, Goretzka is seen as a ready-made solution rather than a long-term project, a player who could contribute immediately in demanding matches.

Favourable conditions

The key factor driving Madrid’s interest is contractual.

Goretzka’s deal with Bayern Munich expires at the end of the season, opening the door for either a free transfer in the summer or a cut-price move in January.

This has placed him on Madrid’s radar, especially at a time when the club is prioritising smart, low-risk signings.

Goretzka’s situation in Munich has changed significantly. After years as an undisputed starter, he has slipped into a secondary role, with reduced minutes and less influence on matches.

He is no longer viewed as a central figure in Bayern’s medium-term plans, a reality that has led those close to the player to believe that a change of environment is necessary.

A ready-made solution

From Real Madrid’s point of view, the interest is driven by a clear sporting need. In several high-pressure games this season, the midfield has lacked physical dominance and intensity.

Goretzka offers exactly that. He brings power, box-to-box runs, aerial strength, and the ability to sustain a high tempo over 90 minutes.

Another factor working in Madrid’s favour is the strong institutional relationship between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

According to the report, discussions internally revolve around a fee in the region of €8–10 million to complete the transfer in January.

For Bayern, this would allow them to recover some value and for Real Madrid, it would be a low-cost, low-risk, and potentially highly rewarding move.
