Real Madrid have already begun the search for a new manager for next season – report | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s managerial uncertainty is far from over and according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the club has already begun exploring alternatives for the bench ahead of next season, despite publicly backing Alvaro Arbeloa. 

The decision to dismiss Xabi Alonso was supposed to act as a reset. Instead, it triggered an even deeper collapse. 

Real Madrid hit a new low with their shock 2-3 elimination against Albacete in the Copa del Rey round of 16, a defeat that came with Arbeloa already on the touchline.

Crucially, doubts surrounding Arbeloa did not begin after that defeat. His name was already being discussed as a short-term option even before Alonso was officially dismissed. 

Arbeloa is inexperienced

Inside the club, there were voices questioning whether handing the job to an inexperienced coach in the middle of a crisis was the right call. Those doubts have only grown with each poor performance.

Arbeloa has barely had time to work with the squad or impose his ideas, yet every match has already turned into an examination of his suitability. 

The feeling in some sectors of the club is that this appointment was never meant to be a long-term solution, but rather a temporary bridge until a more established coach takes over next season.

This view was further reinforced on El Larguero. Speaking about Real Madrid’s internal movements, it was stated, 

“Real Madrid are already sounding out several coaches. This morning they were already sounding them out for next season. 

“I guess Arbeloa will be there until the summer and we’ll see how it turns out,” it was noted on the program.

There are names on the list

For now, Real Madrid insist that Arbeloa has the club’s confidence and that he will remain in charge until the end of the season. Internally, however, planning for the future is already underway. 

As expected, speculation around potential successors is growing, as Jurgen Klopp remains the standout name, admired within the club for his leadership and ability to rebuild dressing rooms. 

Other profiles such as Enzo Maresca and even Zinedine Zidane continue to be mentioned, although Zidane is already progressing towards becoming France’s next national team coach.

At this stage, Real Madrid are observing rather than acting. Third parties have made inquiries, names are being discussed internally, but no concrete steps have been taken.
