Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz is making a statement with his performances at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, emerging as the leading light for Morocco.

The 26-year-old versatile attacker has scored in each of Morocco’s three matches at the tournament so far, most recently against Zambia, helping them qualify for the Round of 16.

Despite his proven quality, minutes have been hard to come by for Brahim at Real Madrid this season under Xabi Alonso. Even so, Los Blancos hold the attacker in high regard and value his contributions to the team.

Brahim Diaz renewal until 2030 secured

So much so that Real Madrid and Brahim have already finalised a contract renewal until the summer of 2030, reports Anton Meana on Cadena SER.

The negotiations between the club, the player, and his representatives were quick and easy and the renewal agreement has been in place since before last summer.

However, Real Madrid wanted to keep things quiet and not make an official announcement, which Brahim’s camp respected.

Even so, the 26-year-old former Manchester City starlet has offers from teams in Europe as well as Saudi Arabia.

So, there may be a concern that even if the agreement has been finalised, it has not been signed, leaving the door open for Brahim to consider an exit – after all, he has found it hard to play regularly.

A trusted player under Carlo Ancelotti, often the ‘twelfth man’ of the team, the Moroccan has not enjoyed the same status under Alonso, featuring only 484 minutes across 18 matches, in which he has one goal and two assists.
