Real Madrid are gearing up for an important summer ahead, with the club likely to undergo a massive overhaul in the defensive unit.
There are already doubts about Antonio Rudiger’s long-term future at Santiago Bernabeu, while David Alaba is more than likely to leave once his contract expires at the end of the season.
Real Madrid are actively scouring the market to find a replacement for these two, with the chief of scouting, Juni Calafat, reportedly keeping an eye on Bundesliga duo Nico Schlotterbeck and Castello Lukeba.
Real Madrid, though, are also monitoring several young talents who have yet to prove themselves at the highest level but have a higher ceiling.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid are among the clubs closely tracking the progress of Abubacarr Sedi Kinteh.
A centre-back by trade, Kinteh hails from The Gambia but currently plies his trade for Danish outfit Tromso. At just 19, he has showcased immense potential and is already a key first-team component for Tromso.
The report adds that Real Madrid have identified Kinteh as a potential long-term replacement for Alaba.
The reason Real Madrid view him as an ideal replacement for Alaba is that Kinteh is technically adept and is capable of operating in a three-man backline as well. He likes to carry the ball out from the back, which is an added bonus.
However, Real Madrid are not alone in the race, with both Chelsea and Manchester United also interested in his services.
These are still early days, though, and it is unlikely Kinteh would start attracting bids, with Real Madrid themselves not considering him a transfer priority right now.
