Real Madrid have named their squad for Sunday’s LaLiga EA Sports matchday 23 trip to Valencia at 21:00, with key defensive returns and notable attacking absences. The club said in a statement that Antonio Rüdiger, Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold are back.

Rüdiger has been out since late January with a knee issue and trained normally this week. Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold also rejoin the group.

The list features Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin, defenders Carvajal, David Alaba, Alexander-Arnold, Fran García and Rüdiger, midfielders Eduardo Camavinga, Fede Valverde, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Arda Güler and Dani Ceballos, plus Kylian Mbappé, Brahim Díaz and Franco Mastantuono.

Vinícius Júnior misses out through suspension for yellow-card accumulation, while Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo Goes remain sidelined by injury.

Those setbacks present a test at Mestalla as Madrid seek to extend their winning run and keep the pressure on Barcelona in the title race.

With options light up front, Arbeloa could turn to Güler, Ceballos or teenager Mastantuono for creativity, while the returning defenders offer greater flexibility. The travelling party arrived in Valencia aiming for three points in a traditionally demanding fixture.
