The international break, as usual, brought along a few scares for Real Madrid on the injury front, with as many as four players picking up fitness problems.

Kylian Mbappe, Eduardo Camavinga, and Dean Huijsen all returned from national team duty earlier than expected, but their issues are not serious and will be available to face Elche.

However, there is concern about what has happened with Eder Militao. The defender played a friendly match last night for the Brazilian national team against Tunisia, where had to leave the pitch earlier than planned due to an adductor issue.

Militao to miss 2-3 weeks

Now, according to journalist Edu Pidal (h/t Defensa Central), Militao’s issue does not seem serious but he may be out for between two and three weeks.

The defender will undergo medical tests to determine the full extent of the problem once he returns to the club, following which a clearer picture of his condition should emerge.

What does seem certain is that the centre back will not be available, at least, for the matches against Elche in La Liga and Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League.

Militao had already complained of discomfort at the very start of the match, but Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti chose to keep him out on the pitch, before ultimately being forced to make the change at the hour mark.

Now, the key Real Madrid defender could face an extended spell out on the sidelines, much to the concern of manager Xabi Alonso.

After all, Antonio Rudiger is still recovering from his injury, Huijsen, as mentioned, returned from the national team with a knock, and David Alaba has had his fair share of fitness issues.
