Real Madrid began their final preparations for the game against Celta Vigo with the training session underway at the Valdebebas facilities currently.

Having bounced back to winning ways in the league with a victory over Athletic Club in midweek, Xabi Alonso & co. will be gunning for three more points on Sunday, when they return to the Santiago Bernabeu after a series of away matches.

Eduardo Camavinga training

And, as confirmed by journalist Guillermo Rai of The Athletic, Eduardo Camavinga is back training with the team ahead of the Celta Vigo clash.

The French midfielder suffered an ankle injury during the last game against Athletic Club, where he also scored and had to be substituted off in the 70th-minute mark.

Tests conducted confirmed that the injury was not serious and that the 22-year-old could make it for Sunday’s game.

However, it was suggested on Friday that Camavinga might not be risked against Celta, with the aim being for him to be fully ready to face Manchester City next week.

So, it remains to be seen whether he is named in the squad list for tomorrow’s game or not. But the good news is that the midfielder is back training on the pitch.

Meanwhile, manager Xabi Alonso has also called up young defender Joan Martinez from Castilla to train with the senior team.

The 18-year-old wonderkid is rated highly by the manager and the club and has been doing well for the reserves since returning from a lengthy absence due to ACL injury.

Given that Real Madrid are without Dean Huijsen, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, some defensive cover is required, even more so if Alonso decides to use Raul Asencio at right-back.

It could explain Martinez’s call-up to training today and could potentially lead to him being named in the squad for tomorrow’s clash.
