Real Madrid have opened disciplinary proceedings against Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni after a fight during first-team training on Thursday morning. The club will communicate decisions in due course once internal procedures are completed.

The pair had already clashed in training on Wednesday, and the situation escalated on Thursday as they returned to the dressing room. Marca states that Valverde’s facial cut was caused unintentionally and not by a blow from Tchouaméni.

Valverde sustained a wound to his face in the melee and was taken to hospital to receive stitches.

The announcement came on Thursday evening, three days before the Clásico against Barcelona on Sunday at 21:00.

Both players will be sanctioned by the club following the incident.
