Real Madrid is already preparing for its next major summer overhaul, and one target stands out above the rest. According to Fichajes, Florentino Pérez and Xabi Alonso have made João Neves their absolute priority as they look to rebuild a midfield in transition. The Madrid club is even ready to table a colossal offer of €150 million to convince PSG to let go of their young Portuguese maestro.

For the Merengue management, the stakes go far beyond simply strengthening the squad. The possibility of major moves, including potential departures in midfield, opens up a rare financial window. With that in mind, 21-year-old João Neves emerges as the ideal profile: aggressive in winning the ball back, elegant on the ball, and capable of dictating the tempo as well as breaking the lines. He’s the central piece Xabi Alonso already envisions pairing with Aurélien Tchouaméni in a future-proof double pivot.

The mission, however, promises to be complex. Under contract with Paris until 2029, Neves has established himself as one of Ligue 1’s most complete midfielders, with 6 goals and a growing influence on PSG’s play. But Madrid is banking on the appeal of its project and the prospect of a major role at the heart of its starting eleven. If Paris agrees to open the door, next summer could see one of the most sensational transfers in the European market.
