Real Madrid have always had a special place for Nico Paz, their young Argentine academy graduate from their academy who eventually left the club given the intense competition for a starting spot.

The youngster, currently playing for Como in the Serie A, has become a mainstay for the Italian side with his impressive performances and has been constantly monitored by Real Madrid.

His impressive displays, in fact, have generated interest from the Merengues to call the player back into their dynamics, but the idea was eventually scrapped after the signing of Franco Mastantuono in the summer.

A final decision

As relayed by Fabrizio Romano in a recent update, Real Madrid are planning their future with Nico Paz in their project. The plan, thus, is to incorporate the midfielder into the dynamics soon.

There is a strong possibility that the player returns next summer, with Real Madrid having a €10 million buyback clause, and all that remains is the final confirmation from the administration and management.

Having proved his worth and quality in one of the world’s youngest and most exciting teams, Paz is seemingly ready to make his transition back to elite football. The question, however, is where he will get adequate playing time.

With Arda Guler’s rise and Jude Bellingham’s presence, playing as an attacking midfielder for Real Madrid is not really an option for the Argentine star.

There could, however, be a potential opening generated in the squad should Dani Ceballos leave next summer which he could fill in stylistically.

Last season, the 21-year-old made 35 appearances for Real Madrid scoring six goals and providing eight assists in the process. He averaged 1.5 key passes per game, created 11 big chances, and completed 83% of his passes.
