Real Madrid are looking to make it three wins in a row across all competitions when they travel to the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero on Tuesday to take on Elche. Jose Mourinho will need to freshen things up following the weekend victory over Rayo Vallecano, especially with several places pushing for places in the starting line-up.

Real Madrid are big favourites to defeat Elche, and if they do, they will go level with Barcelona at the top of La Liga. The hosts are yet to win in La Liga this season, but Mourinho will certainly not be taking the match likely, even if it does present an opportunity to rest some of his key players.

In terms of changes, Diario AS expect several to be made. In defence, there are due to be returns for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen and Marc Cucurella, with Denzel Dumfries, Antonio Rudiger and Alvaro Carreras dropping out from the victory over Rayo. Federico Valverde and Bernardo Silva will be partnered in midfield, with Guler, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior as the three behind Kylian Mbappe in attack.

Real Madrid have more than enough firepower to cause Elche problems, and with the hosts having conceded 13 goals in their opening five La Liga matches, there is the potential for a high-scoring contest – especially in Los Blancos’ favour. Mbappe, Vinicius, Bellingham and co. will fancy their chances of adding to their tallies, although Mourinho will be keen to stress that nothing can be taken for granted at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.
