Real Madrid have completed the blockbuster signing of Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig, with the teenage sensation becoming the club's most expensive signing in history.
The 19-year-old has put pen to paper on a long-term contract after Madrid agreed a deal worth an initial €125 million (£107m), with a further €15 million (£12.7m) available in bonuses. If those add-ons are met, the transfer will surpass the fees paid for Jude Bellingham and Eden Hazard, making it the biggest in the club's history.
Diomande arrives after a remarkable breakthrough campaign in Germany. The Ivory Coast international scored 12 Bundesliga goals and provided eight assists for RB Leipzig before enhancing his growing reputation with a string of impressive displays at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
His rise has been nothing short of extraordinary. Just two years ago, Diomande was playing at DME Academy in Florida before moving to Leganés, where he quickly caught Leipzig's attention. The German club signed him for €20 million in 2025, and his value has skyrocketed after a sensational debut season.
The winger becomes Real Madrid's sixth signing of the summer under José Mourinho, joining Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konaté, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Espí as Los Blancos continue an ambitious rebuild ahead of the new campaign.
