Real Madrid’s name has clashed with Manchester City multiple times this week, particularly due to presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme.
Looking to take on Florentino Perez in the upcoming presidential elections, Riquelme has tried to entice supporters by promising to bring in both Rodri and Erling Haaland, even potentially landing in legal trouble in the process.

Real Madrid as an entity, though, have set sights on a completely different Man City player in the form of Josko Gvardiol.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid see Gvardiol as the ideal signing at centre-back heading into the new season.
It must be noted that Real Madrid are on the verge of signing Ibrahima Konate. But they want to sign at least one more centre-back and that is where Gvardiol comes into the fray.
The Croatian international has ample experience at the highest level, is young and most importantly, he is capable of operating both as a centre-back and a left-back. This makes him an exciting option for Los Blancos.

However, Romano adds that acquiring the services of Gvardiol won’t be a walk in the park.
Although the departure of Pep Guardiola may lead to a mass exodus of sorts, Gvardiol still has two years left on his contract at the Etihad.
Not to mention, the Premier League giants are determined to keep hold of the former RB Leipzig starlet and handing him a new deal, knowing he is vital to the club’s defensive setup.
Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid may have to fork out a fortune in order to get Man City in the negotiation table. Unfortunately, that appears to be a difficult proposition as of now.
