Real Madrid star ruled out of France fixture against Ukraine; doubt for next game – report | OneFootball

Just as it seemed like Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga had left his fitness woes behind and started growing in prominence, the Frenchman has been struck down by a fresh problem.

The 22-year-old midfielder joined the French national team camp earlier this week, but has been unable to participate in a single training session with them.

Indeed, the youngster has trained away from the rest of the group, largely focusing on running exercises, as he has been dealing with hamstring pain.

Camavinga out of France vs Ukraine

Now, according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Camavinga has been ruled out of France’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.

The 2018 World champions take on the Ukrainians later tonight at Parc des Princes in Paris, and after having not trained for two consecutive sessions, the Real Madrid star has been formally ruled out.

Furthermore, the report adds that, as things stand, Camavinga is also a doubt for France’s next match in the World Cup qualifiers, which takes place away to Azerbaijan later this week.

A concrete update on his physical condition should emerge after the match tonight, at which point it could also be confirmed if he will remain with the France camp or return to Real Madrid to further his recovery.

Real Madrid, for their part, are keeping a close eye on the situation surrounding their young midfielder at the French national team camp.

Given that they have had numerous injury woes already this season, Xabi Alonso & co. will hope that the issue bothering Camavinga is not serious and that he is not risked by France in their next game.
