Real Madrid continue to adhere to their age-old tradition of winning trophies every season and staking their claim in Europe.

However, a tilt in their strategy has been observed over the years, and it involves entrusting youngsters with an increased platform.

The Merengues are now more enthusiastic than ever to formulate a sustainable squad that can compete for years to come.

And entering the summer transfer window, their desired transfer targets exemplify that shift in outlook.

Having signed Kylian Mbappe and Endrick, Real Madrid are focused on bringing in more youthful prodigies such as Leny Yoro and South American gem, Franco Mastantono.

Real Madrid’s interest in Franco Mastantono is still alive

Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano (h/t RM4 Arab) 16-year-old midfield prodigy Mastantono is still on Real Madrid’s radar and “list of interests.”

Mastantuono has shown creative promise at River Plate, and Madrid highly regards his talent in the centre of the park.

A few weeks ago Real Madrid were reported to be on the verge of signing the River Plate starlet this summer for an alleged fee of €25 million.

But things have gone quiet on that front in recent weeks. And while an outcome has yet to be reached, the Merengues have not ceased their pursuit of the teenager.

Mastantono, for his part, is said to be eager to don the royal white jersey and looks forward to seeing the move materialize.

Still, given his inexperience and tender age, the likelihood of him staying put at River Plate for an additional season is high.

If the deal is finalized this summer, Mastantuono will continue to rack up experience at River Plate until next year before moving to Madrid.

After all, this strategy echoes Real Madrid’s successful approach with Endrick, who signed in 2022 but will officially join this summer.
